NAS-optimised drives are specifically fine-tuned and designed to handle high workload rates in high data traffic networks that NAS devices typically operate in. They are also built to be much more reliable in order to reduce the risk of outages and maximise storage time. We still find businesses trying to save a few dollars by equipping multi-enclosure NAS with low-cost desktop drives. To understand why businesses end up doing this, Seagate together with DataStorageAsean.com (DSA) conducted a quiz to see how much IT personnel know about NAS storage devices and the drives empower those devices. The quiz was taken by 100 IT professionals. There were six questions to be answered to see how much of a storage expert one is. The questions had multiple choice answers with some questions having more than one answer.
