Non-Fungible Tales: A Journey Through NFT
Welcome to the latest edition of our monthly Special Focus. This month, we explore the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and their growing impact on the art world.
You may have heard about NFTs in the news lately, but what exactly are they? In simple terms, NFTs are unique digital assets that are veried on a blockchain, making them one-of-a-kind and impossible to duplicate. The allure of NFTs lies in the fact that they allow creators to monetise their digital creations, from artwork to music, in a way that was previously impossible.
With NFTs, creators can sell their works directly to buyers, cutting out the need for traditional intermediaries like galleries or auction houses. Additionally, buyers can have digital proof of ownership that is immutable and transparent. But while NFTs initially gained popularity in the art world as a way for artists to sell their digital artworks and receive royalties for any subsequent sales, they have since expanded into a variety of use cases beyond art.
For this e-book, we reached out to a few experts to learn more about this ongoing evolution. We asked their views on what some of the most important emerging use cases for NFTs could be and the potential risks and challenges that they may bring. Their insights shed light on the diverse possibilities of NFTs, ranging from tokenising intellectual property to transforming the concept of ownership.
So, sit back and enjoy "NFT - It Started with Art." We hope you find it both educational and inspiring. Happy reading!
